Description
Historically, watches featuring astronomical complications have always been Patek Philippe's most prestigious, such as the Graves Supercomplication, Calibre 89 and Star Calibre 2000. In 2012, the Geneva maison launched the present 6102, featuring one of the most important calibres produced by the brand in recent times: the 240 LU CL C, made of 301 individually hand finished components.
The reference 6102 features the Northern hemispheric view of the sky and a planisphere that can be seen from the latitude of Geneva. What this means is that if one looks up at the Geneva sky at midnight, then refer to the wristwatch, one should be able to pinpoint the desired star on the dial that can be seen in the night sky. To achieve this, the watch comprises of a multi-layered sapphire disc display which is calibrated to 25 trillion potential ratio combinations.
