Acrylic on Spalding Basketball

Circa 1996

This hand painted basketball depicts the members of the 1995–1996 Chicago Bulls, the team widely regarded as one of the greatest in NBA history. Chicago dominated the regular season, finishing with a 72–10 record — the best in NBA history at the time.

Led by Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan, the Bulls re-established themselves as the league’s premier team. Pippen provided steady scoring and elite defense that became standard in his time with the Bulls, finishing top 5 in both MVP and NBA Defensive Player of the Year voting.

Supported by a championship-caliber teammates including Dennis Rodman, Toni Kukoč, Ron Harper, Luc Longley, and Steve Kerr, the Bulls navigated the postseason with authority. They overcame the Miami Heat, New York Knicks, and Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference, dropping only 1 game on the way to the Finals. In the 1996 NBA Finals, the Bulls defeated the Seattle SuperSonics in 6 games.

The painting depicts this historic team and their coach: Scottie Pippen, Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodman, Toni Kukoc, Luc Longley, Dickey Simpkins, John Salley, Randy Brown, Ron Harper, Steve Kerr, Jud Buechler, Jason Caffey, Phil Jackson, Bill Wennington, and James Edwards.

This basketball comes directly from the Collection of Scottie Pippen.

The basketball is accompanied by a letter from James Spence Authentication in regards to the signature.
