Each season Apogia focuses our efforts on producing two outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon wines: The Hill and The Vale.

The Hill wine comes from mountain fruit grown in the famed Pritchard Hill area of Stagecoach Vineyards. The Vale comes from our valley floor grapes from the reserve blocks of Larkmead Vineyards in Calistoga.

The 2024 growing season was fast and furious. It was a condensed, busy, beautiful harvest season. We spent many hours chewing skin and spitting seeds, touching each and every cluster, patiently waiting for the right time to harvest. Apogia’s 2024 The Hill is selected from the best barrel of the vintage. Grown at an elevation of approximately 1500 feet, the fruit benefits from extended time in the sun, but without the potentially damaging heat. The vines are exposed to a broad array of natural conditions with dramatic swings in daily temperature. Once harvested, the extractability of color and flavors were amazing, and the wine displays fantastic density, is plush and silky, with precision, brightness and complexity.
