Arrand Parsons (1918 - 2001), Professor Emeritus at Northwestern University, was a beloved professor of music theory and composition, teaching at the school for almost 40 years. He and his wife, Margaret (Peg) Hutchinson Parsons (1918 - 2004), traveled to India in 1969-70 and were immediately drawn into the vibrant artistic scene, meeting and befriending several artists such as K.C.S. Paniker and Ram Kumar.
