Description

Château Margaux 1961

Margaux, 1er Cru Classé

u. 2ts, soiled labels, slightly worn and corroded capsules, importer's details on back labels in Traditional Chinese

A recent magnum at the Château trumpeted this wine's claim to fame. Incredible aromatic, intense bouquet. Extraordinary spiciness. Extra concentration.  Incontrovertible class. This is nectar. Formidable cassis depth, such a mark of this unique vintage. Serena Sutcliffe, MW

Provenance

Immersed in the vibrant world of hospitality and gastronomy from a young age, the collects or has cultivated a sophisticated palate, a deep appreciation for classic wines, and an unwavering commitment to quality. A successful entrepreneur and esteemed wine connoisseur, he is also renowned as a hotel and restaurant operator. His discerning taste shines through in this exceptional collects ion.

This remarkable collects ion features some of the most exquisite Bordeaux Classified Growths and gems from legendary vintages such as Mouton Rothschild 1982, Latour 1982 and Petrus 1989. It also includes distinguished Champagnes from renowned houses such as Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 1995 and Krug Clos du Mesnil 1990. Complementing these are wines from the iconic Domaine de la Romanée-Conti from 1991 and 1993. Offered in generous parcel quantities, this collects ion is a true celebration of elegance, tradition, and excellence.

Most of the collects ion has been acquired over the past three decades from UK and local wine merchants. Almost 100% of the wines were purchased more than 20 years ago. Vintage 1995 and onwards such as Mouton Rothschild and Comte de Champagne were mostly ordered and purchased on release in parcel quantities. The wines have been professionally stored in two professional, temperature-controlled cellars in Taipei since.
