The Ulysse Nardin Reference 676-88 Sonata stands as a test.mes nt to the brand's commitment to blending traditional Swiss watchmaking with innovative complications. Introduced in the mid-2000s, this t.mes piece is renowned for its mechanical alarm.

Encased in a 42mm 18k pink gold case, the Sonata exudes elegance and sophistication. The silvered dial is adorned with 'fausses cotes' decoration and features applied dart-shaped hour markers. Distinctive subdials at 1, 6, and 11 o'clock positions display the alarm setting, second t.mes zone, and 24-hour alarm countdown, respectively. A blued steel bridge over the visible centrifugal governor at 8 o'clock adds a touch of mechanical artistry.

At the heart of the Sonata Cathedral beats the self-winding caliber UN-67 that powers the watch's unique alarm function, which chimes on a gong with a sound reminiscent of a cathedral bell—a feature that inspired the model's name. The movement also includes a patented mechanism allowing for the adjustment of the hour hand forward and backward independently, facilitating easy changes between t.mes zones. Additionally, the movement boasts a power reserve of approximately 42 hours.

A masterpiece of innovation and sound, the Ulysse Nardin Reference 676-88 Sonata Cathedral represents a unique convergence of art and engineering in the world of fine watchmaking. We are pleased to present the current lot in wonderful condition complete with its full suite of accessories.
