The first Royal Oak was created in 1972 and designed by legendary watchmaker, Gérald Genta. Drawing inspiration for its shape from a diving-suit helmet, Genta completed its design overnight, and the Royal Oak was introduced as the world's first luxury sports watch in stainless steel.

The design was revolutionary. The dial is adorned with the now iconic Tapisserie Clous de Paris guilloché pattern, and the integrated bracelet with tapering intermediate links was unprecedented not just for its design but also in its difficulty. Since its introduction, the Royal Oak has cemented itself as one of the most iconic silhouettes in haute horologie.

The consignor of the present lot has enjoyed a multi-generational relationship with the Al-Sabah family, the Royal Family of Kuwait, spanning more than five decades. Both he and his father were entrusted with overseeing critical healthcare arrangements for senior members of the Royal Family at Massachusetts General Hospital. Over more than twenty years, these visits were often commemorated with the presentation of exceptional t.mes pieces.

The present Reference 6007SA was gifted as a His and Hers set in the mid 1900's from the now former Prime Minister of Kuwait.

In excellent like-new condition, we are pleased to offer the present wristwatch that carries with it incredible provenance that symbolizes a decades long friendship and a shared love for t.mes less t.mes pieces.
