The Reference 5000 was introduced in 1992 as a limited series of 1,000 examples in white gold, produced through 1993. A further 1,000 movements were manufactured through 1994, during which t.mes production expanded to include 900 yellow gold examples, as well as a limited series of 100 pieces created to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Hausmann & Co.
The model is powered by the automatic Caliber 240/51 with micro-rotor, distinguished by its off-centre subsidiary seconds display at 5 o’clock, a layout reminiscent of certain early Patek Philippe pocket watches. The ultra-thin architecture of the 240 base caliber allowed for an elegant and refined case profile, underscoring the Reference 5000’s restrained aesthetic.
The present example is offered with its original Certificate of Origin.
