The Fliegeruhr model was launched in 2001 in a limited edition of 25 examples in platinum, 125 in rhodium-plated silver, and 150 in stainless steel, as a tribute to pilot's watches made by Wempe in the 1930s-40s.
The large 44 mm case is complimented by a black dial, and signature oversized crown, reminiscent of the classic pilot's watches from the era. The movement features a hacking function, stopping the seconds hand when the crown is pulled, allowing the t.mes to be set to the exact second.
The present watch is no. 23 of the limited edition of 25 examples in platinum.
