Tempera on panel, gold ground, polylobed, shaped-top, in an engaged frame

Panel: 63,4 x 41,2 cm ; 25 by 16¼ in.; Fronton : 10 x 25 cm ; 4 by 9⅞ in.

With Pardo, Paris, in 1948 and in 1954 (as Benedetto Bembo).

The painting has been the subject of several tentative attributions: Berenson attributed it to the Lombard painter Bonifacio Bembo, while it is listed on the Fondazione Zeri website as attributed to the Ligurian painter Giovanni Mazone.
