Bellanger was a cabinetmaker who produced neo-Gothic and neo-Renaissance inspired furniture in Paris between 1867 and 1876. At the 1867 Paris Universal Exhibition, he was awarded a gold medal in recognition of his mastery and style, which was in vogue at the time, as was cabinetmaker Diehl, who was celebrated for his creativity.
