Founded in 1899, the Western Golf Association is one of the oldest golf organizations in the United States. The WGA oversees and hosts professional and amateur events, having conducted over 300 tournaments since it's inception. Its first tournaments were held at the Glen View Club, which included the inaugural Western Open in 1899.
Bob Hope and Bing Crosby were inextricably linked not just through show business but also through golf. The golf tournaments - The American Express and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, as they’re known today - were informally called “the Hope” and “the Crosby” for decades.
