Introduced in the early 2000s, the Portugieser Ref. 3712 represents one of IWC’s most technically impressive chronographs, housing the manufacture’s split-seconds rattrapante movement within the brand’s iconic Portugieser design. Crafted in stainless steel, the model combines refined aesthetics with mechanical sophistication, allowing the measurement of intermediate times through its double chronograph hands. Produced for only a few years, the reference was made in relatively limited numbers and remains highly sought after by collectors for its balanced proportions and the distinctive symmetry of its dial layout. The present example, dating from 2005, is offered in excellent overall condition and exemplifies the enduring appeal of IWC’s technical ingenuity.
