Introduced in 1969, reference 3563 reflected Patek Philippe's gradual shift towards more contemporary design throughout the late 1960s and 1970s. Produced until around 1986, it reinterpreted the classic Calatrava with a slim case and distinctive crown recessed into the back, allowing for a perfectly symmetrical profile and comfortable wear on the wrist for right and left hand wearers.
The present example, dated circa 1973, is configured in yellow gold with a blue tapisserie dial, and is sought after for its understated design and distinctive presence among early automatic Calatravas.
