The helmet bowl Edo period, 17th – 18th century
the thirty-two plate russet iron bowl with raised ridges of akoda-nari form, terminating in a five-stage copper and silvered tehen kanamono of chrysanthemum form, the first stage chased and engraved with karakusa, russet iron peak with sanko no byo, small black lacquer turns with raised rim, four-tiered black lacquer solid plate neck guard with spaced lacing in dark blue braid, scalloped rim, the wood maedate in the form of a sun among clouds, decorated in red and gold lacquer
