A Higo katana koshirae [sword mount]
Edo period, 17th century
the saya decorated overall with sharkskin inlaid into black lacquer, the leather handle over black lacquered same, the shakudo kogai carved in shakudo with crabs on a nanako ground, gilt details, the silver kozuka undecorated, the iron round tsuba with silver inlay to the rim, leather tsuka
