Created for McQueen’s Autumn–Winter 2007 collection, look 44 is a highlight from one of McQueen's most identifiable and collectable collections. This gown is adorned with beading that appears to resemble locks of hair, often associated with witchcraft and femininity - key themes from this collection.

This gown also reflects the designer’s interest in personal history and the legacy of the Salem witch trials, in which his ancestor Elizabeth Howe was among those condemned. As such, the collection was titled ‘In Memory of Elizabeth Howe, Salem 1692’.
