Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon, Monte Bello 2005
Santa Cruz Mountains
Cabernet Sauvignon 66%; Merlot 26%; Petit Verdot 6%; Cabernet Franc 2% An incredible berryish opulent, but also utterly classic "bordelais" nose - no excess, just fascination and beauty. This has a whiff of Havana cigars. Similarities with 2001, but maybe more luscious. Like blackcurrant and coffee liqueur at the end. Intoxicating! Serena Sutcliffe, MW
