4to (205 x 154mm), woodcut device on title, in-text woodcut illustrations and diagrams, later inscription in ink to upper pastedowns, contemporary vellum, manuscript spine title in a later hand, red sprinkled edges, fore-edge flaps, lacking engraved frontispiece portrait (as typical), small marginal closed tear to title, occasional soiling and dampstaining not affecting text, 2cm hole to spine (not extending into textblock)
FIRST EDITION OF SPINOZA'S POSTHUMOUSLY PRINTED WORKS, which "have served, then and since, with the Tractatus Theologico-Politicus, to immortalize his name" (PMM 153).
