Kangri youji zhanzheng de yiban wenti ("Common Problems in the Anti-Japanese Guerrilla War") [with:] Lun chi jiu zhan ("On Protracted Warfare"). Yan'an: Jiefang chubanshe, 1938


2 volumes, 8vo (196 x 137mm). Most gatherings unopened; toning to leaves, small chips and closed tears to edges. Original white wrappers, spines and front covers lettered in black with facsimiles of Mao's calligraphy, signature of Mao to "Common Problems in the Anti-Japanese Guerrilla War"; creasing to corners and spines, some loss to head of spine of vol 1, small patches of spotting along spine of vol 2.


[with:] On the Protracted War. Peking: Foreign Languages Press, 1960. Second edition.[and:] Typed letter signed ("Jack Woddis") to Ronald Gray ("Mr Gray") at Hammersmith Bookshop, one page (200 x 125mm) on onion skin paper, 55 St Georges Road, NW11, 22 February 1950; creased at top and bottom edges. Housed in a folding green clamshell case, typed label to upper cover with author and title; wear to edges, especially to joints, with some loss.
