inscribed A. Rodin and with the foundry mark Alexis Rudier Fondeur, Paris and numbered 2/12 (on the base); stamped A. Rodin (on the interior)

length: 20 in. 50.8 cm.

Conceived circa 1884; this example cast in 1931 by the Alexis Rudier foundry, Paris.


This work will be included in the forthcoming Catalogue critique de l'oeuvre sculpté d'Auguste Rodin currently being prepared by the Comité Rodin in collaboration with Galerie Brame & Lorenceau under the direction of Jérôme Le Blay under the archive number 2010-3287B.
