Gallerie Taj Caribe was owned by Vidya and Shashi Gadgil and Annette Walker from 1973-1974 with a mission to introduce and showcase Indian and Haitian artists and fine arts to the Greater New York art community. Upon Annette's departure from the venture, the gallery was renamed to Gallery One and stayed in business until mid-1976 on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
