You Only Live Twice. London: Jonathan Cape, 1964
8vo, FIRST EDITION, FIRST STATE, binding A, PRESENTATION COPY inscribed by the author to Lisl Popper ("für Lisl | Ian") to half title, DUST-JACKET, minor discolouration to front-free endpaper, slight wear to corners of dust-jacket
Lisl Popper met a young Ian Fleming at Kitzbuhel in Austria in 1926 and subsequently became his lover. Even if the affair didn't continue as the pair grew older, they were lifelong friends, and Fleming left £500 in his will to her. He inscribed a number of presentation copies for her, and the character Lisl Baum in For Your Eyes Only was named after her.
