Edo period, 19th century
the rectangular box and cover with close-fitting cover, decorated in gold hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, hirame, keuchi and nashij on a black lacquer ground, with young pine (wakamatsu) and bamboo on rockwork, black lacquer interiors, fundame rims, fitted with an inner tray
