the top ebony strung, the frieze drawer fitted with internal partitions and drawers and surmounted by inlaid oak imitating dentils, the four drawers with shield-form escutcheons of inlaid ebony flanked by ebonised inset columnar corners surmounted by parquetry diamond motifs, the lower drawer with a panel bordered by oak and ebonised obelisk-form inlay and with a later painted depiction of a Classical figure with a child and amphora, on square splayed feet
