Description

Designed as an organic abstract formation, suspending articulated coloured rough diamonds, enclosing a watch, the crystal made of citrine, to an textured chain, length approximately 512mm, signed Grima, partial British hallmarks.

This unusual 'Woodland' watch/pendant is a unique design for the ‘About Time’ collection, a collaboration between Andrew Grima (1921-2007) and Omega. It is number 74 in the collection. Grima was commissioned in 1969 by Omega to create a collection of watches, something he had never designed before, previously citing “If you need to know the time, you ask your chauffeur.” He designed 55 watches and 31 matching jewels all based around an Omega movement. Grima removed the Omega signature from the watch face, ensuring as much as possible that they did not look like wristwatches.
