François Truffaut and Elia Kazan were two absolute titans of twentieth-century filmmaking. Their respective filmographies fill out large swaths of many critical "best of" lists. In his collection of essays, The Films In My Life, Truffaut devotes two essays to Kazan, discussing his films Baby Doll (1956) and A Face in the Crowd (1957).
