A Pair of George III Silver Vegetable Dishes and Covers, Paul Storr, London, 1805
the circular dishes with gadrooned rims, the domed covers with lobed band and Earl’s coronet finials within a beaded circle, engraved with arms and supporters, marked on dishes and covers, the finials maker’s mark WM, probably for William Moulson, London, circa 1840

The arms are those of Hobart, Earls of Buckinghamshire, probably for Robert (1760-1816), 4th Earl, P.C. served in the army 1776-84, M.P. 1784-96, chief secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland 1789-93, governor of Madras 1793-8, secretary of state for war and the colonies 1801-4 (the capital of Tasmania is named after him, chancellor of the Ducky of Lancaster in 1805 and in 1812, postmaster general 1806-7. He married first in 1792 Margaretta, daughter and co-heir of Edmund Bourke of Urrey. She died in 1796, and he married in 1799 Eleanor Agnes, daughter of William, 1st Lord Auckland. He died in 1851.
