This is one of numerous sixteenth-century editions of Bolzanio's grammar, and the second Aldine edition; it must have sold well as Paolo printed it again in 1560 (see next lot) and in 1566.


8vo (153 x 102 mm). Italic and Greek type, 29 lines plus headline. collation: A-Z8 Aa-Qq8 Rr10: 322 leaves. Woodcut Aldine device on title-page. (Washed and pressed, occasional light soiling and dampstaining.)


binding: Eighteenth-century Italian vellum-backed blue marbled boards (160 x 115 mm). Housed in a modern paper slip case. (Worn and soiled, particularly to rear board.)
