Bacci's vast survey of baths and hot springs across Europe and beyond, discussing the geological origins of water and springs as well as their medical properties for both internal and external use, was first printed by Valgrisi in 1571.
4to (221 x 150 mm). Roman and italic type, 28 lines plus headline. collation: [-[[4 A-Z4 Aa-Qq4: 164 leaves. Printer's device on title-page, woodcut head- and tail-pieces, and initials. (Light foxing and browning, small library stamp on title page, short tear to final blank.)
binding: Later vellum over boards (227 x 162 mm), spine gilt with morocco lettering pieces, manuscript lettering along lower edge of text block. (Lightly worn, corners bumped, morocco labels chipped.)
