This creamer and sugar bowl were finished in 1907; the making, by Samuel R. Wooley and Nels N. Haarklou, took 28 and 32 hours, while the chasing by master Robert Bain took 49 hours for each piece.  The Scottish-born Bain had joined Gorham in 1892, and was considered the foremost chaser at the firm.  He was responsible for many of the masterpieces of Martelé displayed at the World's Fairs; his $39 per week was twice the average pay of a silver chaser.  In 1907, the same year as these pieces were made, he was named "overseer" of the chasing room.

The net factory prices were set at $112 each.
