This image of a beach had previously been used by Reid as an illustration for Christopher Gray's anthology of English translations of Situationist writing Leaving the 20th Century (1974), pp. 136-37. The book and its imagery provided a powderkeg of inspiration for both McLaren with Reid repurposing some of his earlier imagery for the Sex Pistols.
