The Doran family;

Michael Doran came to Philadelphia in 1795 from Mountrath, Queen’s County, Ireland and was a merchant;

Son Joseph M. Doran (1800 - 59) born Philadelphia, graduated University of Pennsylvania 1820, admitted to the bar in 1824 and had a wide reputation and a lucrative practice;

Son, Joseph L. Doran (1844-1919) studied at University of Pennsylvania, then studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1865, and concentrated on railroad and corporate law;

Daughter Caroline Borden Doran married Robert E. Lee George in 1913;

Daughter Caroline married Frances Randolph Williams in 1943.
