A collaborative work between the two brothers Song Yongping and Song Yonghong, this work has long been considered to be the work of just Song Yongping. The two brothers were part of the ’85 New Wave Movement (85 meishu yundong), an avant-garde art movement named by Gao Minglu that developed in the period 1985-1989. Together with artists of the same sensibility, they later created realist paintings tinged with irony and critical views that were deemed as examples of Cynical Realism, of which other key proponents include Fang Lijun, Liu Wei and Yue Minjun.

本作是宋永平、宋永紅兩兄弟合繪的作品，但本作長期以來一直被認為是出自宋永平之手。宋氏兄弟是「85美術新潮」的活躍分子之一，這場前衛藝術運動由高名潞命名，於1985至1989年期間掀起波瀾。後來，宋氏兄弟與其他時代觸覺相通的藝術家匯流，投入現實主義風格創作，作品夾雜諷刺色彩和批判思考，被認為是玩世現實主義的典範之作，其他一眾重要的玩世現實主義藝術家有方力鈞、劉煒和岳敏君。
