This child's set was a gift to Miriam Grant, daughter of Fannie Chaffee and Ulysses S. "Buck" Grant, Jr., the second son of President Ulysses S. Grant. She was the first of their five children. She married Ulysses Samuel Macy (1877-1914) in 1904 with whom she had two children, Fannie Grant Macy Wallace (1905-1933) and Grant Chaffee Macy (1910-1911). She later married John Clinton Rice (1880-1960) in 1920.
