LIMITED EDITION LITHOGRAPH SIGNED BY PAUL CALLE AND NEIL ARMSTRONG
Paul Calle was one of eight artists selected by NASA in 1962 to document the US space program. He designed a myriad of space-related postage stamps, including a pair of 5-cent Gemini postage stamps and the iconic “First Man on the Moon” 10-cent stamp for which he is most celebrated for. On July 16, 1969, Paul Calle was with the Apollo 11 astronauts as they had breakfast and readied themselves for their historic expedition to the moon. He was the only artist present to document the activities of Armstrong, Collins, and Aldrin as they prepared for the launch. In this beautiful limited edition lithograph, Calle depicts Armstrong in his “Snoopy cap” as he suited up for the mission.
