Kawanabe Kyosai (1831-1889)
Three woodblock prints from the series Japanese Brocades from the Genroku Period (Genroku Yamato nishiki)
Meiji period, late 19th century
each a woodblock print, from the series Japanese Brocades from the Genroku Period (Genroku Yamato nishiki), signed Seisei Kyosai ga, published by Takekawa Seikichi, 1886, and comprising:
- Horibe Yasubei Taketsune, with hand-applied lead pigment
- Oishi Sezaemon Nobukiyo and Terasaka Kichiemon Nobuyuki
- Yoshida Sawaemon and Okuda Magodayu
Each vertical oban:
37.3 x 25.1 cm., 14¾ x 10 in. (the first)
37.3 x 25.9 cm., 14¾ x 10¼ in. (the second)
37.5 x 25.1 cm., 14⅞ x 10 in. (the third)
