Half-title, large folding map of Mount Vernon by Neele after Washington's drawing, with the legend in Washington's hand in printed facsimile; some foxing, heaviest to preliminary leaves, reinforcement to half-title, some offsetting to map with closed tear repaired. Half calf and marbled paper-covered boards, gilt-lettered label to spine; extremities rubbed, upper joint cracked.

First edition. Young was a British agriculturist, and published author, with whom Washington established a correspondence during his retirement.
