7-inch dial with rococo spandrels, matted centre with date aperture and signed on an inset silvered plaque James Smith, London, strike/silent dial in the arch, the fusee movement with five knopped pillars, rack striking and half-hour strike on a bell, (trip repeat lever now missing), the case with inverted bell top and moulded base, the whole decorated in gilt with chinoiseries on a red ground
