shaped bases chased with shellwork, the bodies applied with rococo cartouches flanked by sprigs and floral swags, applied with a satyr mask below spout, eagle-head handles, marked on bases and engraved with scratch weights 24=17 and 24=12, the shell-bowl ladles with eagle handles, with maker's mark only FH possibly for Francis Harache

Isaac Duke was apprenticed to Edward Feline in May, 1724, and became free on July 4, 1744. He entered his mark as a largeworker June 15, 1743, with the address of Witch (Wych?) Street, near Drury Lane. Despite the quality of these sauce boats, work bearing his mark is rare.
