A Meissen Topographical Tea and Coffee Service, Circa 1800


finely painted with views of Dresden and the surrounding countryside, including the Japanese Palace, the Großer Garten, and the Katholische Hofkirche, as well as Schloss Albrechtsburg at Meissen, Schloss Moritzburg and Schloss Pillnitz, the tray with a large scene of the River Elbe with Dresden in the distance, each within oval cartouches with tooled-gilt borders, the rims with 'jewels' of white and green enamel, comprising:


a rectangular tray;

a teapot and cover;

a coffee pot and cover;

a milk jug and cover;

a sugar bowl and cover;

two trios of a teacup, coffee cup and saucer;

and a pair of spoons

crossed swords and asterisks marks in underglaze-blue, view titles in black script, various impressed numerals. 17 pieces.
