Manuscripts in safina form from the Safavid, Zand and Qajar periods most commonly comprise prayer books and poetic texts, such as a contemporaneous prayer book that sold in these rooms, 31 March 2021, lot 23. It is very rare, however, to find a manuscript of the Qur’an written in this format such as the present example.
