each base with waterfowl and pond reeds, supporting associated gilt-cailloute decorated scalloped glass trumpet vases

43cm. high; 1ft. 5in.

Although unsigned, these candlesticks relate to the output of Thomas Abbott. A lamp-maker and brass founder in Birmingham, Abbott produced finely cast whimsical candlesticks often in the form of herons and storks perched upon a rocky base.
