The present lot is a version of Van Dyck's portrait of Anne Russell at Petworth House, collects ion of Lord Egremont, painted circa 1638. Van Dyck painted her portrait at least twice, both t.mes s shortly after the sitter's marriage to William Russell, 5th Earl of Bedford (later 1st Duke of Bedford), in 1637.
