Description

Hermès Bleu Marine Bolide 35 in Courcheval Leather with Gold Hardware, 1997

This Hermès Bolide shoulder bag features two rolled tall top handles, a wrap around zipper and a spacious leather lined interior.

The Bolide has gone through several phases, but the idea for the bag dates back to 1923, when the first version was created to commemorate the launch of a new model of Bugatti. The word bolide meant meteor at first and then in the twentieth century the French called the fast new cars 'bolides'. Emile Hermes created this bag for a friend who was passionate about the automobile in 1923. After finding the zipper in America he attached this to the bolide and the bag as we know it was born.

Includes shoulder strap, Clochette, Lock and Keys, Dust bag.
