Property from a Distinguished Private Collection
An Attic Black-figured Oinochoe
circa late 6th Century B.C.
with echinus foot, round mouth, and high concave handle with arms extending onto the rim, the frontal panel painted with two warriors riding in a quadriga wheeling sharply around, one warrior wearing a Corinthian helmet and holding a shield emblazoned with a hound, the other wearing an Attic helmet, a third warrior confronting them and holding a shield and spear; the details in added white and red, a graffito underneath the foot.
