Description
An Egyptian Limestone Head of a King
early Ptolemaic Period, circa 304-350 B.C.
probably a sculptor’s model, the king wearing the nemes-headcloth with uraeus, and crown composed of ram horns surmounted by the sun-disk and plumes, his face with highly idealized finely carved features, a grid pattern and part of an inscription (?) on the back.
Height 10 cm.
