the front with a mother-of-pearl panel carved as the body of a lion with silver tail and head with ruby eyes, the other sides with moss agate panels, all sides framed by garnet cabochons and between blue enamel foliate borders, the cover topped by a fallen soldier with baroque pearl chest, legs, and shield, his waist set with a peridot, his helmet with a ruby, the interior with removable holder for three bottles
