Founded in 1894 and specializing in complicated watches, Universal Genève produced a series of successful models in the post war years. In quick succession, they released the Compax, Aero-Compax, Tri-Compax, Polerouter and Microtor UG66 to great acclaim. Of these models, the Tri-Compax was the most complicated; combining a full calendar, chronograph, and moon phase functions. Made in a number of different dial and bezel design configurations, the model became successful on launch and has garnered significant collector interest.
Powered by a manual caliber UG 281 17 jeweled movement, the Tri Compax is cased in stainless steel, and is characterized by its distinctive and sharp sculpted lugs. The silvered dial retains four registers as well as two apertures for day and month, with the moon phase window located at 12.
