the rectangular hinged card case with rounded corners and curved top and bottom, carved, chased and inlaid in silver and gold with a bird in branches of a pine tree, small lock catch opening to reveal an elegant lined interior with stencilled chrysanthemums on a very fine card, the reverse with a magpie beside a stream beneath the continuing branches of the pine tree, silver rims

11.5 cm, 4 ½ in. long
